I just pulled my SL-1200 out of storage after 15 or 20 years, along with an Empire EDR.9 cartridge that was also in the box. I downloaded and printed out the SL-1200 arc protractor from VinylEngine, but the combination of the EDR.9 and stock headshell comes up short, literally - the stylus won't reach the arc on the protractor. I think overhang is the correct term for this aspect of setup, but I may be wrong - if so, please feel free to correct me.I'd like to get this TT set up properly before spinning my old vinyl. Can anyone suggest a headshell that offers an increase in effective length versus the stock HS? Or perhaps a different protractor that will work well with this combination?
I mentioned the Sumiko HS-12, as a lot of posters recommend it for the SL-1200, but I haven't seen any info regarding my specific issue. Any and all help much appreciated. Thanks in advance!
Regards,
Jim
