The HR PSU's most important (to me) improvements include better pacing and drive - the 'table seems to "lean into the music" more enthusiastically - as well as slightly improved rhythmic coherency and a more assured sense of time.
The noise floor is lowered and subtle details pop out of a blacker background. Spatial recording artifacts are a bit more layered and three dimensional, which unfortunately causes them to draw more attention to themselves.
Tonal colors had a very subtle 'greyness' with the stock PSU that I hadn't noticed until I heard its absence; they're a little more vivid and distinct with the HR.
Bass notes are more tightly focused and sound more propulsive, with no trace of bloating or smeared attack.
The HR was a no-brainer at $700 new, but at the current $900 list price, I'd just make sure that the arm, cartridge, and TT support are all up to snuff before shelling out that kind of dough.
