GOATS HEAD SOUP plus

1. Emerson, Lake, and Palmer - "Works" Three discs that are pretentious as hell and almost coma inducing in length and pacing. The only track worth listening to is "Tarkus."

2. Vanilla Ice - "Ice Ice Baby" all attitude, zero chops. A good record to use for target practice.

3. Engelbert Humperdinck - "Please Release Me" Yes, please! My wife bought this and it just about defines dreck.

4. Various Artists - Disco's Greatest Hits. Another spousal purchase. With the exception of a couple songs this whole collection does not make one nostalgic for the 70s. If I have to hear "I Love the Night Life" or "Get Up and Boogie" one more time................

"Goats Head Soup" is easily the worst album ever released by a major act. This is painful to listen to - the songs are listless and Mick, without good material, sinks into self-parody. Words cannot describe how much I hate this record. Only "Angie" and "Star, Star" are halfway listenable and even they wouldn't have found a home on any halfway decent Stones album. I bought this in 1973 when it had just hit the stores and I still don't know why.
