When Larry installed my last cartridge and asked me to send him my tonearm, why did he ask me for the measurement of spindle to pivot pt. if it is a set number on my table? Surely he would know that the proper distance is 210 on all Spacedecks.
Now I need to know if my arm needs to be adjusted back somehow (it measures 205 mm). I agree that Larry has been not just helpful over the years, but has gone above and beyond to make sure I was satisfied--even helping me set up my table over the phone and giving me his home phone number in case I ever needed him after business hours. This makes me think he may not believe the few mm differece makes much difference.
Whatever the case, I am using this situation to hopefully learn to set up my table myself. So, do I adjust the arm to match the spec sheet, and then check cartridge allignment, or do I check allignment based on my current--slightly incorrect-- setup? (which I beleive is David's original issue)
