Hi,
The CJ Walker decks (not to be confused with the Proscenium!) were always well-liked when they were current (1980s). They were simple, well-sorted, sprung-subchassis designs with some clever choices of material in their construction. The platter is made from Tufnol, an engineering plastic, for example.
They used the Thorens belt dimensions, I believe, which makes for easy replacement. The CJ55 was the original model, and has 4 rather than 3 springs. It was followed by the CJ58 and the round-plinth CJ61. I think the model numbers derived from the birth-dates of Mr & Mrs Walker's children!
