I wouldn't feel too bad about the 540 not cutting it through that LP. Matter of fact, I'm suprised you have carts that can track it without sibilance. I have about 7 carts here and NONE of them (including your 540 mk.2 which I own) can track the sibilance in the 30th anniversary pressing of the track "MONEY".

imho, the 30th year pressing blows. At least mine does but many others have complained too. The treble is way too hot. When I put my MoFi version on, there is NO SIBILANCE whatsoever and the treble is much better balanced.
