The reflective strip requires a dark background for the laser to get a reading, so you can't stick it directly onto an aluminum platter. My thought is that a larger diameter black circle (1 1/2"?) with the reflective strip in the center, stuck onto the platter when needed with double sided tape/blu tack, will work. I'll check it out this week on the fabled wankel tt.
