And yet while my Quad ESL 57's had the best midrange of any speaker I've ever heard, they don't "do" rock so well.

My Horn Shoppe Horns on the other hand, do. Foot tapping, solid bass producing, play unstrained at realistic volumes, etc.

It works the same way from the front end (cartridge) to the back end (speakers), and everything in between.
