A colleague @ work knows about my "vinyl disease".... (he is so close to the Dark Side.. lol), but he decided I should have his old gear as he knows I'll appreciate it (I have more stuff on the way apparently!?). The short end of it is I have his old Pioneer rig (an SA 7500 II and a PL 520 turntable). I put the integrated amp on my bench and cleaned all the pots and ran a frequency generator sweep through it, and it's good. The t-table clearly has the "auto linkage" screwed up, probably dry, but he wasted a brand new "low-end" Ortofon mm cartridge on it cause it doesn't raise enough, and twisted the cantilever on return.. many times! Does anyone have any pics or documentation on the PL520? It's missing a piece of plastic on the the arm tube ass'y at the gimble area (snapped off), but I can't see of what significance it was?? Also, has anyone replaced the arm on one of these with something else? It's a molded mounting system, so something would have to be constructed. Thanks for any and all assistance!
