Yes but...Stand is only a nice record. Don't get me wrong, I think Stand is a soul classic -- but there are a lot of other soul classics. My point was that I do not know of another record that sounds remotely like Riot, and there is something in that sound that is unique and true. Sometimes (very rarely) the crazy, angry drunk actually has the better argument, and that, to me, is Riot.

I also think the lp is basically a big middle finger up to 1960's.
