Isolating your turntables from your "isolation" shelf seems counter-productive to me, but ya never know.

I'd keep it in there for a week or two; long enough to get a good feel for the way it effects the top-to-bottom coherency, timing, rhythm, and drive of your more energetic music, as well as the bass control and tunefulness. Then pull it outta there and see if things liven up without all that energy-storing mass. You can always use the granite as a stepping stone in the garden, which is where mine ended up. : )
