If you read the thread carefully you will see that I didn't say the RS-3 won't work.

What I did say is that the explanation of its mode of action given in the thread does not hold water. That does not preclude it working by some other mode of action, but if anyone has found one they haven't told me.

Brian Kearns has some interesting ideas regarding the effects of residual skating force on the RS-3. I'm currently following these up with an investigation of the interaction between antiskate and tracking error.
