I've not compared the two, but on paper the 160 is much better than the 165.

The tonearm is better on the 160 and the metal subplatter on the 160 should be better than the plastic model on the 165.

I can't remember exactly, but I think there is bit of an improvement in the 160's bearing too. It's larger or something.

Back in the day a 160 was a nice improvement over a 165 and an increase in price too.
