I can confirm that there were European pressings of Nevermind - I was working in a record shop in the UK at the time and we sold a lot of copies on vinyl (not as many as cassette and CD though).

My copy was pressed in Germany - GEF 24425. I guess the unexpected popularity caused them to press at multiple locations.
