...I was working for Universal, and attended this conference in Marbella, Spain, and these European colleagues had taken some vinyl reissues to give to all of us. Nevermind was one of them, but not being into vinyl then, I didn't take them. I've been kicking myself silly since.

My suspicion is your copy's one of these reissues. Nevermind came out when vinyl was pronounced (prematurely) dead. I remember a contemporaneous LP release for GNR's Use Your Illusion, but not for Nirvana.
