There's a field of mathematics called transfinite number theory, established by Georg Cantor who first pointed out that there must be more real numbers than whole numbers, even though there is an infinity of whole numbers. Look up Cantorian diagonalisation, it's very famous in the philosophy of mathematics (one of my former fields of study).Mark Kelly
