Hot Stamper "secrets" revealed

This info may be nothing new to some here, others may find it useful. In addition to stamper numbers (often a letter and a number or two letters), there are the mastering facilities/engineers often dsignated with initials, and then there are the pressing plants. Here are links to the Hoffman site for pressing plant information and some Steely Dan "Katy Lied" info. Following is a list of mastering engineers/facilities, some pulled from a list on the Hoffman site, which I have added to. Many of these will be familiar, maybe some won't:
AT/GP Atlantic/Warner- George Piros
Wly or Wally- Capitol Wally Traugott
Gene - Gene Thompson Capitol
Kendun- a well respected California based mastering studio
SR or SR2- Stan Ricker
Porky, Pecko or "a prime porky cut"- George Peckham, a superb UK based masterin engineer
Bilbo- Dennis Blackham, UK based engineer
MCA SH- Steve Hall
AZ- Allen Zentz
JG- John Golden (worked for Kendun)
Sf- Sam Feldman
TJ- Ted Jensen (sterling sound)
RL- Robert Ludwig (Sterling sound and Masterdisk)
HW- Howie Weinberg (Masterdisk)
Greg Calbi (sterling sound)
BG- Bernie Grundman
GK- Gilbert Kong
LH- Lee Hulko (sterling sound owner)
KP- Ken Perry
TML- the mastering lab Doug Sax and Mike Reese worked at the Mastering lab. You may see the following designations TML-M cut on master Scully lathe, TML-S cut on slave Scully lathe, TML-X cut on slave Neuman lathe. Pressing plant info

If a record has any of these engineers listed on the Jacket, but not in the dead wax, they most likely did not cut that particular copy. None of this information is guaranteed to result in a Hot stamper quality record, but will certainly help seperate the wheat from the chaff. The Hoffman site has former and current engineers and producers that contribute as well as many extremely experienced experts. This information and your own experience will lead the way to "Hot Stampers".
