P9 versus LP12/Aro/Lingo (or equivalent)

155.136.219.101

Hi folks, due to my recent audio bereavement, I'm without a turntable - my LP12/Cirkus/Lingo/Naim Aro/Asaka is no more.

As my reference is gone, I'm looking to replace it (thank heavens for insurance, eh?) and quite like the concept of the P9 (or a non-bouncy deck in general).

How will this compare to the (almost) fully-loaded LP12 I had - a sad twist of fate is the fact that I can't find a dealer locally with both an LP12/Lingo/Aro and a P9 to demo side-by-side, so I'm looking for feedback from people with experience of either.

Top Cat

PS. ANy recommendations for a suitable cartridge for a P9 would be useful, too - I have around £600 ($1000ish) to spend on a new needle :-)
