worth trying on a DL103 IME is to use two small brass spacers between the cart and headshell. I use two small brass nuts and think the sound is more complex and musical as compared to no nuts :-). This is an extension of a tweak I read about elsewhere when using the 103 with a vintage arm--running two short lengths of brass or copper wire between the headshell and cart before tightening down the bolts. Supposedly minimizing contact between the cart and headshell in this way drains nasty vibes from the 103 body right into the shell and down the arm into the bearings where they belong?I've gone so far as to pick out the "right" Uwe body for my arm but I'm real antsy about taking the body off of my Sound-Smith rebuild.
Maybe instead of duct tape on the sides and front I'll try bits of dynamat...
