Why sub-sonic isolation is so important for TTs.

I was looking for info about infra-sonic vibes from traffic, railways etc.

As you'd expect, the frequencies which tend to affect buildings are in the <1Hz to 20Hz band, but check out the plot given for a typical spectrum for heavy traffic;



Notice the peak at 8 or 9Hz?

It happens to be very close to the resonant frequency of a properly-matched arm and cartridge.
