I suspect that Classic Records is being cynical about their entire operation and looking at it strictly from an accounting perspective. How much it costs to have quality control vs. how much it costs them in credits to dealers. But Classic Records cannot possibly be taking into account the bad will they are creating by their poor quality control, or else they'd have rectified the problem.
Their market has to be extremely small anyway, so why alienate customers and potential customers? There are relatively few mail order outlets--you're not going to find Classic at the Mart. How many people buy Classic Records but are totally unaware of criticism on the internet of some of their pressings?
