Should I give up on Classic Records?

My very first experience with Classic Records was a couple of weeks ago with Bob Dylan's 4-LP set, "No Direction Home." I bought the 150 gram version. As soon as I opened it I thought it was going to be bad because the vinyl looked worse than records I've owned and played since the early 1970s. Sure enough, 6 of the 8 sides were extremely noisy. Only one LP out of the four was acceptable. Side three, track one had half a dozen tiny little gouges in the vinyl!

Okay, the dealer took it back and all I was out was the return postage.

Today, I get the replacement, and it's just as bad. I have NEVER seen such poor quality by ANY record company! The first record I looked at looked like milk had been mixed with the vinyl. The first track on each of several different sides was extremely noisy with almost constant tics. Surface noise was horrific on, again, six out of eight sides, although the good LP was a different one than before.

One record had a bunch of weird embedded little hash marks in the grooves. I've never seen anything like it before and I have seen thousands and thousands of records. Another record was pressed off-center and it was a little disconcerting to watch my arm move back and forth laterally.

Why does Classic go to the trouble of all-analog mastering when their finished product is so abysmal? How can they lay claims to being an audiophile company when there are this many complaints?

Brand new out of the box and they grade visually maybe VG and sound maybe VG-. I would have been hesitant to buy something that looked like this even at garage sale prices.

I've read here that some people have had no problems with Classic and others, with experiences like mine, hate them. I am not going to pay someone a premium to check that they are decent before shipping. That goes against my sense of fairness and decent sales practices.

I don't know if it'd be any different if I bought this title again in several months. Maybe they had a bad run and sent a lot of bad product out without checking it.

But why they have such poor QC is beyond me. If that isn't penny wise and pound foolish, I don't know what is.
