Welcome Licorice Pizza (LP) lovers! Setup guides and Vinyl FAQ.

This sounds interesting....

I record my LP's to CD just so i can listen to vinyl through the Imod...its much more fun being able to listen to 4 or 5 albums a night without messing with my TT.

Sure, it does sound a bit better when played through the TT...but the convenience of digital makes it preferred these days.

All i can add is to please use Mitsui Gold Audio Master CD-R, and rather than record at a specific level, record as normal and take the gain just below the clipping point. that way all albums are recorded the same way & the db gain inherent to the album won't be as much of a factor. In other words, the CD's should be at the same level. Using an Ionoclast or other static reducer & Mikrosmooth prior to the burn is recomended too.

Try Oban. its so good for little $.

I've always stated that my CD's from LP's are better than ANY commercial stamped CD. that's an easy claim to back-up. Stating that a digi recording of an LP is better than the real thing? that's a bit more difficult.

have fun! there's nothing more boring than sitting in a dark & silent room while waiting for a piece of plastic to spin around...

When i transfer i try and drop the needle and leave the house for 15 minutes, then do it again & again. this way no outside noises like phones, doors slamming shut or anything else can ruin the analog capture process.
