General vinyl question?

I have learned that so called "virgin or pure" vinyl is dark but translucent. I have found a number of LPs, from flying fish, rounder records, some MFSL that are pressed on this material. Are there supposed to be intrinsically quieter sound, less background noise with this compared to vinyl with black pigment or dye? Or is this hype? Thanks Norm
