1.5mV Grado Sonata & Bellari?

Hi folks. Can I get some quick help for my problem? I won an audiogon auction for a Grado Sonata. The seller's ad said "high output MM cartridge." It just arrived and although the Spec Sheet says 4.8mV output, the underside of the cart says "VPI." I just spoke to Grado Labs who assured me that if it says VPI it's a 1.5mV cart. So, my question is -- will the 30dB gain of the Bellari VP-129 I just picked up be enough to run this cart?

I don't want to mount it to find out because if I have to return it I don't want the seller to try to claim that I screwed up the cart, or something like that. (Obviously, I'm now wary of a seller who would claim to have the cart for about 2 years but wouldn't know its output.)
