some of you may have noticed in another thread earlier this week that jweiss was repeatedly asking for me to publicly post my system. i declined to do so but offered to share the information in private if there was a valid reason.

jweiss wrote to me personally and got (i think) satisfaction -- and actually we had a good exchange. i learned a bit more about him & appreciated that perspective.

i'm also sorry if any of my posts were out-of-line. i had reasons for not wanting to do the system laundry-list and got tired of the 'list-your-system / i-don't-choose-to' series of messages. i apologize to all for that tug-of-war.

as it is, i still don't think that what one has for a system is necessarily a *requirement* of discussing topics here on the forum, particularly if one's writing is clear, one's points are discussed logically, and relevant gear a person has either lived with or listened to is listed as appropriate.

(i guess i'm apparently not cut from the stereotypical audiophile mode -- not that there's anything wrong with that -- and don't really need to discuss it publicly, for a variety of reasons.)

others are welcome to email me privately, if a system discussion ever needs to come up.
