Due in part to your recommendations I bought one. It was scarily bad right out of the box but after a few hours emerged as an excellent cartridge, much better than its MM relative, my previous Ortofon OM40. I don't have much else to compare it with but I did have a Benz H2 on loan just before I put in the X5, and while the Benz is a better cartridge, the X5 is not far behind at most at a third the price. So let me add a strong recommendation for the X5 for those looking for a reasonably priced, high output, light weight MC cartridge.
