Lots o' WD-40 - spray it into the bearing well while the subchassis is upside down and draining into a catch can - then use a Q-tip followed by a rolled-up paper towel. The WD-40 will clean out the old oil without damaging the bearing and still leave a slightly treated surface.
The deal is you want to clean out all the old oil and get the well lint-free too.
