Welcome Licorice Pizza (LP) lovers! Setup guides and Vinyl FAQ.

Peter,

I own one of those, so I took another look at it. The counterweight has a small hex setscrew, so I loosened it with an Allen wrench. It slid back and forth, so that's how you do it. That seems a bit awkward, especially since you work from the bottom. The good news is that the weight can be slid off the back, and flipped over. That makes things a lot easier.

I realize that on this forum any derogatory comment about the tonearm (or anything else, except Barry Manilow) will be met with fierce opposition from some corner of the world, but I'm willing to take the risk. The tonearm doesn't have a lot going for it, in my opinion. It is rugged, but that's about it. Have you considered replacing it with something better? That's what I did with mine.
