I know this is a dumb question. I am looking for a Phono preamp. I have read that the Denon 103 series is a "best buy" cartridge, but you need a preamp with enough gain to handle a low output cartridge. Where do I look for this spec. and what do I look for? How much fudge factor is in the numbers. For example I think that you need 50 db of gain for a 103. What if the preamp has 45 db of gain? Is this close enough?I would appreciate it if somene could either answer this question or direct me to a source for the information.
Thanks,
Hujo
