Another way to add mass to a tonearm is by wrapping it in tape. I did this with an SME Series III low-mass tonearm, which increased its effective mass from 5-grams to about 10-grams. I used black electrical tape and wrapped it very tightly with about four layers. The added advantage of this method is that it also damped higher frequency resonances in the arm wand, which seemed to improve bass performance and overall clarity.Best regards,
