Hi Blake:I have a FT-3 that I intend to mount on a home made plinth with a mono cartridge. I was able to get an owner's manual from Sumiko. Later, I discovered both the FT-3 and FT-4 manuals can be downloaded from Vinyl Engine.
The FT-3 maunal instructs adding damping fluid when using cartridges with low dynamic compliance (<10 X 10[-6] cm/dyne). The FT-4 manual adds instruction to ALSO add damping fluid with cartridges of high compliance (>18).
I do not understand how damping fluid can improve the compliance match for both high and low compliance cartridges. But I would suggest comparing your Denon to the above numbers and experiment adding fluid damping per the manufacturer, rather than a more tac-y solution.
Good luck. M3 lover
