Well that sorta depends...
If you mean real musical and sonic improvements of the gobsmacking kind, they're far too few and far between. Most of the true improvments that I've experienced with component upgrades and tweaks have largely been incremental, tho they must be of a magnitude that's fairly obvious to my ears for me to warrant the expenditure.
If you simply mean stunningly different sounding, there have been many and most frequent.
Unfortunately the kind of dramatic changes I normally hear have been of the "gollygeewhizz,....that sounds wrong" kind.
In fact, the most alarming was installing a full set of a popular power cord from a well respected cable manufacturer.
Music that I am intimately familar with were barely recogniseable, so different was the presentation.
Some musicians simply seemed to have left the studio altogether and various backing performers tried to take over the stage, drowning out the lead and substituting accents and room acoustics for melody and rhythms.
A very weird experience.
Those power cords now see duty on the computer I'm on right now.Since I use a MicroSoft OS, I couldn't tell you if they screw up the computer or not, tho I did have to turn down the brightness and contrast on the monitor a smidge.
really.
