Significant Changes

For me the most significant change in my system was the tonearm. It's no wonder since I went from an Ito Microace arm to an Alphason Opal. Overall, surface noise dropped significantly and music was just sweeter. Heck, my tastes are now moving to classical piano and violin.

My next test is a change to a spherical stylus, MC cartridge. I am moving-on from my beloved Grado Platinum based on comments here. The new cartridge is a Denon DL-103R. I sure hope the surface noise stays low and the midrange magic is there. I'm going to use CineMag transformers for my step-up. I'll try a loading of 150 to start. I just hope I can get the loading and gain right for this cartridge.
