But I don't think Trane's sound was ever better recorded.As I posted above, with respect I disagree. I think the Rhino box is sonically every bit as good as the originals are. The one instance where I would take that back is if one is particularly fond of mono. I have Coltrane's Sound and My Favorite Things on early (white fan) mono pressings, and I actually prefer the stereo despite the extreme panning. But the difference is quite large and I could imagine someone not caring for the stereo of the Rhino box.
