All turntables with magnetic bearing remembering at first to the Verdier design. JC Verdier began with publishing his concept in the French L'audiophil magazine before he went act as manufacturer.Maybe the new magnetic bearing of the Clearaudio turntables are like the one's from Transrotor. There the string drives a sub-platter which drives via magnets a second subplatter.
In my opinion the magnetic bearing is not the last word in bearing design. A good designed bearing will be a better solution.
