As I'm a newbie to high-end analog, I can't help you with your selection. But, I can suggest that moving your old table to the Denon is going to be a waste of time. I tried using my turntable with my Denon 5800's phono imput. The sound was totally lifeless, causing me to shelve my turntable for 4 or 5 years. You would be better off selling the old equipment rather than hooking it up to the Denon. Or, if you do hook it up, use a separate phono preamp -- don't use the one in the Denon.
