Phono Gain and my EAR 802, Grado PH-1

ALoha, I need some help with my set-up...Esoteric Audio Research 802 Preamp, 100 Watt Mono Block Tube Poawer Amps ( Quicksilver) Ariston RD-40 Table with Linn IttokII Arm. I am tring to use a Dynavector Karat 23RS Cartridge very low output ( .2MV I think) The 802 dosent have even close to enough gain. So I bought a Grado PH-1. Problem is with the active Grado I am getting a a horrible ocean crashing wave like distortion. I have tried a Audio Technica Passive and a Quicksilver Passive and they sound very nice but still not enough gain. The distortion is gone the second I remove the wall wart on the Grado, so it seems to be the wall power that is causing it. I have tried powering the Ph-1 from a remote wall socket but it makes no difference. I believe the Qicksilver passive and the Audio Technica passive are around 25- 30 DB Gain but I am not sure. I think I need around 65 which is why I went with the Grado, but it surely dosent want to help... Anyone out there using this cardridge with success....? Any one out there with any ideas.....HELP
