Re: No seriously, why does my Rega SUCK?

I couldn't agree more, that is I come from a nearly identical perspective as far as being a long term Thorens specifically but suspended tables in general.

Obviously taste is as the French say " When it comes to taste there can be no dispute "

That said my recently traded off/gifted stock TD 318 (hardly one of the more noted Classic Vintage Thorens Sterling (inherently Musical) performers like the TD 150, the 318 a lower rent econ version of the TD 320.
But for whatever reasons the little TD 318 clearly outperformed a nicely set up new Rega 25, BTW the comparison was not just a rote set em down which sounds better, we did a good bit of set up variations Cartridge changes, footing siting, etc.

I am admittedly highly Biased, but I think a competently tuned suspended Deck Thorens, Linn, Michell etc. etc. does make the Rega's I'm familiar with sound more like CD players to my ear.

Kind regards fredJ
