Re: Lyria Dorian vs. Benz Glider M2?

If you have the original Argo, the Dorian will track better. The Dorian was designed after the original Argo and included some improvements over the Argo. The Argo-i is when these improvements were incorporated into the Argo, and as a result, the Argo-i both tracks better and sounds better than the Argo.

The Dorian has a more relaxed sound than the Argo (the Dorian is more in the mold of the Helikon), while the Argo is more upfront and has sharper dynamics and tighter rhythms.

I find that both the Dorian and Argo-i track better in a top-quality tonearm. With tonearms like Triplanar, Schroeder, Graham, Immedia, Moerch et al, I can play almost anything, which includes lots of preowned LPs (cleaned on a VPI) and heavily-cut 12-inch 45rpm remixes.
