If you have the original Argo, the Dorian will track better. The Dorian was designed after the original Argo and included some improvements over the Argo. The Argo-i is when these improvements were incorporated into the Argo, and as a result, the Argo-i both tracks better and sounds better than the Argo. The Dorian has a more relaxed sound than the Argo (the Dorian is more in the mold of the Helikon), while the Argo is more upfront and has sharper dynamics and tighter rhythms.
I find that both the Dorian and Argo-i track better in a top-quality tonearm. With tonearms like Triplanar, Schroeder, Graham, Immedia, Moerch et al, I can play almost anything, which includes lots of preowned LPs (cleaned on a VPI) and heavily-cut 12-inch 45rpm remixes.
