Question: Can wrong phonostage loading or improper input transformer connection cause audible distortion on loud passages? I have Ortofon SPU Royal Navy (0.2 mV output) running into Lancelot Camelot phonostage (44 dB gain, 9K input loading resistor) through S&B step-up, configured for 1:10.
I like the sound a lot, as long as music is not going "forte", driving me crazy with distortions. Please help!
