With a quick and dirty set-up it bettered the DL103 instantly ...faster, more detailed, deeper bass with no bloating, liveley ...I'm really enjoying it and can't wait to hear it on my new table.My last Denon was a DL301MK2 ...and the AT is already sounding better than that too. Its too soon for me to tell where this is ultimatley headed, but so far I am very impressed.
In my opinion the DL103 is a tremendous value, but not a truly great cartridge (no rants please, that's just one guys opinion). I haven't heard the "R" version.
