After reading anumber1's review of Cinemag CMQEE-3440A transformers, I recently picked up a pair and finally got to mounting them properly today. I wired them so I would have two sets of input RCAs for the 37.5 and for 150 ohm loadings -- wanted to avoid having any switches in the signal path. See a picture of the finished project below and find a couple more, including internal mess, here.I think these things sound great, too. My other step-ups include Altec 4722, little Beyerdynamic units from a 60s tape machine, and a pair of Jensen JT-44K-DX. The Cinemag units are not nearly broken-in but I can safely say they are easily as good or better in my system as the other units. I am partial to those old tiny Beyers though; they are a true bargain and sound wonderful.
Anyway, thanks anumber1 for a great find!
