My yearly pilgrimage to South Florda was met with great disappointment this time around. Offbeat Records on State Road 7 in Plantation and Larrys on Oakland Park Blvd in Fort Lauderdale were this years casualties. There was also a small store on Route 1 in Dania that met with a similar fate. The last vestige is Yesterday & Today on Bird Road, which I haven't made it to yet, but I am planning to either later today or tomorrow. I find it curious that at a time when turntable sales are at their near all-time high(since the advent of cd),record stores are closing at an alarming rate. Is there anywhere else in South Florida a vinyl junkie can get his fix?
