Re: VPI/JMW cueing lever

Thanks JC. I talked to HW and he told me essentially that once the cueing lever fails it cannot be repaired or is not worth repairing. The viscous action is not due to an oil damper effect but rather to a high-tolerance seal between the piston and the cylinder which on some units (rare) can mysteriously fail and cannot be repaired. He was somewhat apologetic about it and explained that this is the only item in my rig that VPI does not manufacture itself, it is bought from Japan. In typical VPI fashion he immediatley sent me a new one at no cost (my tt is still under warranty) and less than twenty hours later it was installed in my turntable.
