clamp on belt drive

i have a new belt drive coming to me and i am thinking of spending 40 bucks oon this one lb clamp on ebay. the table is a non suspended belt drive, could this be okay on belt drive table? (the tabel is an old sony tts 3000).
i've searched the archives and read a bunch but the threads usualy turn into a discussion of either the clever clamp or the michell. i prefer to leave my table playing while switching discs so i would prefer the mass type of weight that i can just lift off.
does anyone have any info on this rc 101 clamp on ebay? it just looks like a machined piece of aluminum which would be fine.
