The SME V is square solidly set in the medium mass arena. I think a medium to low compliance cartridge would be an awesome fit. I think a high compliance like the Music Man might be dancing with the devil. My Grado Woodie at 20 Cu did not do well at all with 10.5 or 12 grams of effective mass. I had to go with a 3009 Series II Improved and Series III arm to get the proper sound quality from the Grado. Now that I have the proper match the music is a little piece of magic.
The Music Man is at least 20 CU from what I remember.
Perhaps a Dynavector 17DT would be a good match for your SME V.
I love the Quad ESL's. Excellent sound all around. Do you run a subsonic reinforcement like a REL or M&K unit? You do not know what you are missing until you can plumb 16 hz.
Cheers!
