Thanks. That's a handy link.The Grace retip job is doing well at this point, so maybe I won't need to work on that one anymore. That project has my confidence level up though, so I seriously doubt if the F9E will be my last retip attempt. The next step is to find a cantilever source, and that may be quite a task. Until then, I'm stuck with using donor stylus assemblies from different cartridges. I am just now finding out about all this stuff, but I am a reasonably quick learner.
There is plenty to learn, however. For example, I didn't know that the piece of metal above the cantilever on an ADC was the magnet. It seems so simple now, but I was clueless about it. I bought one that had an unglued magnet, and I was prepared to take the cartridge apart because it wouldn't work. Luckily, another Inmate stopped me, or that one would have never played its first record. At least I didn't screw up the Grace F9E. I'm listening to it now. :)
