Welcome Licorice Pizza (LP) lovers! Setup guides and Vinyl FAQ.

Good morning - I was supposed to remind you of something.

Now I can't remember what it was. :-)

Do you have jazz 78's? I have several hundred, but have sold most of the good ones I owned. I was big into collecting them back in the 1970's or so, but got so many of them that I was being over run with them and was unable to keep track of what I had. When my dedicated 78 turntable died, I just sold the better ones and stuck the rest of them into boxes. I also have quite a few jazz Edison Diamond Discs (the very thick records) and I do play them some on my Edison phonographs. Mostly as demonstrations, though, to show people what records sounded like in the in the 1910's and '20's.

This background of listening to old 78's, etc. is probably why I can listen to noisy, worn out lp's and not be too bothered by the noise.

Thanks for the great link - fortunately I didn't check it out last night before going to bed, or I would have never gotten any sleep.

Now I need to try and remember what it was I needed to remind you about.
