as I just picked up an SL1200 Mk2 this past weekend. I'm quite impressed with it, once I got the arm setup with the Denon DL-103R. Sonically, there's less bass authority with the SL1200 compared to my VPI HW-19 MkIII/Rega RB-900 setup I've been using *but* the midrange is far more articulate by a large margin. I'm still playing around with minor adjustments on the Technics so consider this an initial set of comments. For the price, though, its not a bad LP platform.As for the KAB stuff, I've talked to Kevin about the threaded spindle/clamp upgrade he makes up. Sounds really interesting and I'll most likely go for that first as well as improve the mat - a hard felt thing that came with it. This has been one of the most valuable features of the VPI with warped LPs. Outside of that, I'm not planning to do much with it outside of getting a set of hinges to keep the cat from trying to play DJ when I'm out of the room;-).
